'I get such a thrill from finding potential treasure then imagining what it could become by working with harmonious colours, complementary textures and materials.
A process of sympathetic reinvention uses intuition, ideas and impulse, and these direct me what to add or take away.
Sometimes the piece reveals a back story of the marks and scars from a former life and these can be a really important part of the creative direction.
Finally, using my chosen techniques and tools of a maker, I mould with stitches and cuts to create a new perfect treasure with a renewed purpose.'
